What happens when a child goes missing? What does a parent do when their worst nightmare comes true, their silent cries of ‘Surely not mine’ go unanswered, and all their desperate searching is in vain? How to cling to hope, how to fight despair? How do you even hold on to sanity and each other? Ruby Moon walks the footpaths of our great, disconnected Australian suburbia in the wake of the disappearance of Ruby, a 10-year-old girl who went to visit her grandma one day and never came back. Since then, Ruby's parents have been trying to pick up the pieces and fit them together…into something that looks like Ruby. Ruby Moon is a powerful, grimly comic vision of the agony that is Gretel, Azaria, little Maddie and all the missing children. It is the tale of the Big Bad Wolf retold in a kaleidoscopic way you will not forget. |
