The area in which Eddie Carbone and his family live in is a tightly knit, poor community where everyone knows everything about everyone else. Men work at the dock and the women stay at home cooking, cleaning and caring for children. Two illegal migrants from Sicily arrive to stay in Eddie's home and one of them Rodolpho, falls in love with Eddie's niece, who lives with Eddie and his wife under a set of Sicilian family rules and morals dictated by Eddie. The consequent stand-off between Rodolpho and Eddie has tragic consequences. |
